Benefits

Rosacea treatments target the underlying causes of redness and flushing, leading to more even skin tone and reduced visibility of blood vessels. You’ll experience less irritation and a calmer complexion.

Treatments can smooth out the skin’s surface, reducing the appearance of bumps, pimples, and the rough texture that often accompanies rosacea.

With the right treatment, dark spots and hyperpigmentation caused by rosacea flare-ups can fade, leaving your skin looking clearer and more uniform.

Many rosacea treatments, like laser therapy or light-based treatments, are non-invasive, requiring little to no downtime. This allows you to quickly resume normal activities while seeing improvements in your skin.

Reducing the visible redness and irritation from rosacea can help you feel more comfortable and confident in your skin, eliminating concerns about flare-ups.

YEARS AND DAYS ARE TICKING... NOT SECONDS!

PRE-TREATMENT GUIDELINES

For at least 24-48 hours before your treatment, avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds. Sun exposure can worsen rosacea symptoms and interfere with treatment effectiveness. UV rays can irritate the skin and trigger rosacea flare-ups, making it more difficult to treat the condition.

Stop using products containing retinoids (e.g., Retin-A), exfoliating acids, or harsh scrubs 3-5 days before treatment. These products can make your skin more sensitive, which can increase the risk of irritation during your rosacea treatment.

Refrain from alcohol consumption and blood-thinning medications (e.g., aspirin, ibuprofen) 48 hours before your treatment. These can increase the likelihood of bruising or swelling after treatment.

Ensure your skin is well-hydrated in the days leading up to the treatment by drinking plenty of water and using a gentle, hydrating moisturizer. Hydrated skin can respond better to treatments and is less likely to experience irritation during the process.

Let your provider know about any medications or topical treatments you’re currently using, especially those for rosacea or sensitive skin. Certain medications, like oral antibiotics or topical steroids, may impact the outcome of your treatment, so it's important to ensure that your treatment plan is compatible with your current routine.

Arrive at your appointment with clean, makeup-free skin. Clean skin ensures a more effective treatment by reducing the risk of infection and irritation.

BEFORE & AFTER

AFTER TREATMENT CARE

After your treatment, avoid direct sun exposure for at least 1-2 weeks. Always wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect treated skin. Your skin may be more sensitive to the sun after treatment, and UV exposure can worsen rosacea symptoms or cause pigmentation changes.

Stick to a mild, soothing skincare routine, including a gentle cleanser and hydrating moisturizer. Avoid products with active ingredients like retinol, acids, or exfoliants for at least a few days. These ingredients may irritate freshly treated skin, so keeping it calm and hydrated is crucial for optimal healing and results.

Avoid hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms for the first 48-72 hours after treatment. Heat can exacerbate redness and irritation, potentially hindering the healing process and causing more discomfort.

Refrain from scrubbing your face or rubbing the treated areas vigorously. Be gentle when applying skincare products. The treated skin will be more sensitive, and any harsh friction can lead to irritation or complications.

If you experience swelling or redness, you can apply a cold compress to the treated areas for 10-15 minutes at a time to reduce inflammation. Cold compresses help soothe the skin and minimize swelling, providing immediate comfort.

Schedule a follow-up appointment with your provider as recommended to assess your results and discuss any additional treatments if necessary. A follow-up ensures that you’re healing properly and that your rosacea is being managed effectively.
